Race is an important fact and so is genetics, but they can be given too much importance. We had many undistinguished Dukes of Marlborough between the great Duke and Winston Churchill. Churchill's father was a great statesman but his brother, John, was a blameless stockbroker. Hitler, Lenin and Stalin were the descendants of generations of unknown people. 

On the other hand the fact that people are obscure does not mean they are nonentities.
