Ruth Dudley Edwards on Martin McGuinness

Ruth Dudley Edwards today:

We are supposed to be on tenterhooks as Martin McGuinness muses on whether to shake hands with the Queen. He was on the IRA Army Council when it ordered the murder of her husband's uncle, Lord Mountbatten. Is she supposed to have no feelings?

She should not have allowed her Government to have put her in the position of having to do so though I suppose it is sad that he is one of her Ministers too. And she has shaken hands in her time, I suppose, with many traitors and murderers.
