St. Bacchus' Day

I didn't know that last Sunday was the feast of St. Sergius and St. Bacchus, in the Romanian Orthodox calendar. I should like to know more about St. Bacchus

I remember Anthony Burgess wrote a book called 'The Eve of St. Venus', which I bought but didn't open.

There was a Pope called Mercury (Mercurius) who changed his name, thus starting a tradition that Popes assume new names. If I were made Pope, I should keep my name (even if it is a council house name), but I think it is now a remote chance.
