I was shouted down for 40 minutes at Oxford University

Pro-choice students screamed to prevent anti-abortion speakers being heard

Another depressing story. A small meeting of people opposed to abortion in a room at St. John's College, Oxford was in effect prevented from taking place by left-wing yahoos.

Universities should delight in hearing and debating every point of view including fascist and communist ones.

Instead views that were pretty universally held fifty or sixty years ago are shouted down or banned.

Gentle reader, you know all this. What is to be done?

Were universities ever like that really? Weren't they established in the Middle Ages to enforce orthodoxy? They've just reverted to their traditional role of keeping intellectual debate within narrowly proscribed boundaries.

The problem today is that the orthodoxy that is being enforced is so insane and so evil.

  2. What is the solution? Easy - don't send your kids to Oxford (or Cambridge). Send them to MIT or CalTech instead. No such lunacy there (or not to that extent).

    1. Don't get me started on such American "oases of free speech” such as Berkeley, Columbia, CUNY and the like. Ahem, only for progressives, commies, islamists and their ilk that is.
