Lenin, who is still admired in Eastern Europe, in British universities and by Jeremy Corbyn

"If for the sake of Communism it is necessary for us to destroy nine tenths of the people, we must not hesitate."
V.I. Lenin

  1. Can this be true? Lenin admired in Eastern Europe?
A very well written book on Lenin comes from Curzio Malaparte: 'Le bonhomme Lenin'. This book may be the reason why Malaparte was practically banned from the Eastern bloc countries and accused of having been fascist. I found Malaparte's take on Lenin to be ring quite true: a small stubborn and insignificant man, even in his capacity to hate, who was propelled by history and forces beyond his understanding to the status he seems to still enjoy. I do not buy the theory that he was a genius, or a giant of strategy or what else. Best proof is Lenin himself in his writings. Quite possibly he was murdered as were many of the Bolsheviks to end up, suffering from strokes, because he was too weak.

  2. Lenin was not propelled by forces of history but propelled them.
