An epidemic of knife crime in Germany

SHARE
The German police reported more than 4,100 knife-related crimes in 2018, which compares with 400 in 2008.

The German media do not report these sorts of crimes much and statistics on knife crimes are not published. As in most Western European countries the ethnicity of suspects or convicted criminals is not mentioned.

The lack of official statistics means fears about violent crime can be dismissed as alarmist.

Soeren Kern writing for the Gatestone Institute, of which John Bolton was until recently the chairman, has published a grim list of crimes committed by refugees and immigrants.
