Brexit will transform British politics

Boris Johnson held a dinner at No 10 to celebrate Brexit and told his guests,

“This is not the end, as some people would say, this is not even the beginning of the end or even the second half of the middle, this is the beginning of the beginning.”

According to the Sunday Times, Dominic Cummings stood up to speak and was unable to do so, reduced to tears. 

Eventually, he managed to say:

“Lots of people in this room know what happened. Thank you.”

I like him very much for this.

Now for the trade talks, at last, the hard bit. I have one big point to make about this.

The Common Fisheries Policy was invented by the EEC in 1970, when the UK's negotiations to join were far advanced, in order to have access to British fisheries. Michel Barnier is reported to want an obvious trade-off in trade talks— allowing EU fishermen access to British waters in exchange for giving financial services firms access to the EU. Boris would be making a huge mistake if he agrees. Apart from anything else, getting back British fishing rights makes Scottish independence practically impossible. The SNP will not persuade Scotland to vote to give back her fisheries to Europe.

Mr. Gladstone said

 'All the world over I back the masses against the classes'. 

Lord Randolph Churchill, Boris's hero, said 

'Trust the People'. 

The left do neither and the people have noticed.
