Quotations

"I've known three people I've considered geniuses and all three were completely socially inept."

I don't know who said that. I only knew one person I considered a genius and he had excellent social skills, but played Russian roulette and lost. Probably Enoch Powell was also a genius. I lunched with him and thought him pretty odd.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” Aristotle did not say this though social media thinks he did. It is Will Durant summarising Aristotle.

@Judy_Dempsey @RepMikeTurner:

Your smartphone is millions of times more powerful than all of NASA’s combined computing in 1969. A single computer cost NASA $3.5 million.
77% of people in the USA have smartphones.
Yet we’re told of the awful poverty in the USA and capitalism has failed..... sure

Roger Scruton Quotes (@Scruton_Quotes):
"The belief in equality remains vague and undefined, except negatively. For it is essentially a weapon against the existing order – a way of undermining its claims to legitimacy, by discovering a victim for every form of success" Hayek and Conservatism
