'Sarah Palin was very nervous before her VP debate with Biden in 2008 and then she realized she just had to memorize the talking points on each issue and give that answer no matter what the specific question was. Are we sure that's not what Kamala Harris did this entire campaign?'
The US and UK are now actively working on the missiles they provided Ukraine to launch inside Russia. Ukraine can't launch them on their own. They need US intelligence and military support to guide them. Putin knows this. Would the US be OK with that?
Alexander Titov:
Meanwhile, all the talk in the West about ending the war, such as a freeze on the war along the current frontline or a 20-year moratorium on Ukraine's NATO accession, is in its own bubble.
They would need to start informal negotiations with the Russians, not among themselves, to see the actual landing zone if they're serious about having real peace talks.
And since the current leadership in Kyiv is not going to do it, the West would have to put a lot of pressure on Kyiv to accept new peace talks - which is essentially a taboo and really an extremely impalpable option, especially for the Europeans.
So the war will continue, it seems, as long as both sides are physically capable of it.
I wonder why Latin America prefers China’s approach to international relations — based on respect for sovereignty, non-interference in other countries’ domestic affairs and win-win cooperation — over the nation that has looted Latin America for two centuries. Crazy stuff.

: the strange wistfulness of used bookstores, which are somehow infused with the passage of time—filled with thousands of old books you will never have time to read, each of which is itself locked in its own era, bound and dated and papered over like an old room the author abandoned years ago, a hidden annex littered with thoughts left just as they were on the day they were captured (The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, John Koenig, 2021/2022)Ancient Calvinism and modern Evolutionism are essentially the same things. They are both ingenious logical blasphemies against the dignity and liberty of the human soul.
Tweets from 2 former British Ambassadors to Washington DC after Trump was elected the first time.
The Prime Minister should make a statement to Parliament, immediately, to confirm whether UK missiles have been fired into Russia.
He must tell the British public if this means we are now at war with a nuclear power, what risk this poses to people in Britain, and why this action was taken without any approval from Parliament.
I have consistently condemned Russia for its invasion of Ukraine and called for a diplomatic solution to stop the endless bloodshed.
As we edge closer and closer to catastrophe, we should be doing everything in our power to bring about de-escalation and peace. Instead, our political leaders have added fuel to the fire and gambled with people’s lives for political gain.
Presidents and Prime Ministers must know that in the event of nuclear war, nobody wins.
I’m not interested in bombs. I’m interested in peace – and I will continue to campaign for peace in Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, Sudan, the DRC and beyond.
