“I’m no longer proud to be Israeli. It’s a terrible feeling. I’m ashamed of who we are as a people…Everything that is happening now is a result of the occupation [of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since 1967]: The religious coercion, the settler violence, the Jewish terrorism, and the arrogance. The minority [the Palestinians] have a right to fight for their freedom.”


She looked frightened and abruptly ended the interview when she realised she was being broadcast live— then returned and apologised.
