In the gents in a café in Budapest. Apparently it means 'My Mother-in-Law'. How one misses this sort of humour.

The café-restaurant is called Fleischer and serves excellent food in tiny portions, recommended for people on a diet.

  1. Try Speiz opposite St. Matthias’s church on the Castle. It’s duck livers are superb. Decent Hungarian wine list too, fine for a short lunch

  2. I can't bear the old town in Buda. All built after the war. It's just for tourists. There are far too many tourists here in Pest - and tour parties of Americans signal that there is absolutely no edge to this place.
