The New York Times' "investigation" into rapes by Hamas is fake news from top to bottom but the media do not tell you this

SHARE
Two days ago the New York Times published what seemed compelling eyewitness evidence of many rapes by Hamas fighters on October 7

Whether they were ordered by the Hamas leaders seemed unimportant.

I shared the link to the NYT article free of the paywall on Facebook and Twitter but then I discovered from this tweet by Max Blumenthal that the stories were lies.

Not mistakes or distortions but wicked lies, made for financial reasons or, no doubt, to justify the Israeli actions in Gaza.

See this too and this.

There is no evidence that would stand up in court that the Arab fighters raped anyone on October 7th.

I really shall give up the mainstream media for one of my New Year's resolutions. The only exception: the Telegraph obituaries which are often so funny.

I shall read things occasionally on Twitter as Elon Musk advises, read Christopher Caldwell and Rod Dreher and keep an eye on three or four blogs,  including John Helmer's.

Talling of which, this is John Helmer's last  post on his blog, Dancing With Bears.

"NEW YEAR BREAK TO CONTEMPLATE WHETHER THE STATES OF UKRAINE AND ISRAEL WILL SURVIVE THE WARS’ END THEY HAVE BROUGHT ON THEMSELVES"

John Helmer is if not the doyen at least the most senior of the foreign correspondents in Moscow. His out of office announcement would make a great question in a history or political science examination, though the latter is a bogus discipline.

For the first time in a life as a news addict I find the Arab Israel dispute interesting and I suddenly wonder if Israel will be around in fifty years' time.

  4. This article critiques and partly debunks what Max Blumenthal wrote. 'Blumenthal writes: “At least 340 active soldiers and intelligence officers were killed on October 7, accounting for close to 50% of confirmed Israeli deaths.”
But the source doesn’t support this claim and clearly states: “Approximately 1,200 Israelis, civilians and soldiers were killed in their homes, communities and in confronting Hamas terrorists.” Or maybe in Blumenthal’s world, 28 percent is “close to 50 percent.”' https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/2023-11-27/ty-article-opinion/exposing-max-blumenthals-deceptive-claim-israel-is-responsible-for-most-october-7-victims/0000018c-102f-d65f-a7dd-f0ff7b550000
