Greenlanders have it hard enough already. Why take away their free healthcare?

Trump could take over Greenland as easily as Harold Wilson took over Anguilla in 1969, in the so-called Bay of Piglets invasion. 

What I imagine Trump hopes will happen is that Greenland will vote for independence from Denmark and then become an American protectorate or de facto colony. 

However polls show that overwhelmingly Greenlanders do not want to be ruled by the US. They would be insane to vote to separate themselves from Denmark now and they won't. 

While Trump is President Nato is a body without a mind. I am pleased about this. 

If only it had been dissolved in 1992 there would not be a war in Ukraine.

Could a breach between the USA and its allies/vassals be a modern version of the Sino-Soviet split?  

The Europeans leaders could gain by trading with China more but they consider Russia an existential threat and Russia and China have a no limits partnership. I think Canada and Europe should make terms with Russia and China and trade with both after securing the best terms they can for Ukraine. 

No doubt it is much more complicated than that.
