Politicians are now part of the entertainment industry

SHARE
Evelyn Waugh said Churchill was a radio personality who outlived his prime.

Boris Johnson is a reality television star of genius, as is, of course, Donald Trump.

Politics is now about entertainment, although eloquent speeches always were about entertainment, in the days when they were not beamed into your house.

  1. QUOTE OF THE DAY
    Prime Minister Boris Johnson…

“Never mind the back stop, the buck stops with me… The doubters, the gloomsters, the doomsters are going to get it wrong. No one in the last few centuries has succeeded in betting against the pluck and nerve of this country. They will not succeed today”

      Lovely!
Now, try not to choke on this:

The latest YouGov/Times voting intention survey:

"Boris Johnson is the public's preferred Prime Minister over Jeremy Corbyn, with twice as many people choosing the former (42%) over the latter (21%)."

      While...
"Conservatives continue to enjoy a double digit lead over their nearest rivals, with The Tories on 32% to Labour's 22%."
