Dust unto dust - these last words seem appropriate for Ash Wednesday

SHARE
When I had just come down from university I collected hundreds and hundreds of famous last words. This was my favourite.

In the Lutheran Church they have the sacrament of the last rites. As King Frederick William I of Prussia (the "Soldier King") lay dying the clergyman at his bedside said 'Naked came you into this world and naked will you depart hence'. The King opened his eyes, said, 'Not quite naked, for I shall be wearing the uniform of a Field Marshal of the Brandenburg Royal Guard' and then expired.
