The Americans who removed Trump now want to do the same to Putin

SHARE

Biden and the part of the American defence establishment that plotted to undermine Donald Trump hope they can remove Vladimir Putin.

I think they did so long before he invaded the Ukraine in this year. Did they do so before he invaded in 2014?

It depends whom you mean - Obama ridiculed Romney in the 2012 debate when he said Russia was America's main defence threat - but people like Victoria Nuland are another story.

It was Donald Trump, interestingly, who armed Ukraine to the hilt - Obama was much more cautious.

  1. "Plotted to undermine Trump". Any time there is an American president eligible for reelection, someone is plotting to undermine him. Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter plotted to undermine Gerald Ford; Teddy Kennedy and Ronald Reagan plotted to undermine Jimmy Carter. There has been no exception to this rule since the election of 1792.

Such persons in the US military who came in close contact with Donald Trump seem to have overwhelmingly concluded that he was an ass. There were also apparently worried that he would attempt a coup d'etat. But I do not think you can reasonably say they undermined him in his reelection campaign.

  2. <"Plotted to undermine Trump". The same people foolishly thought Trump and Biden worked in tandem, which is part of the reason the US defence establishment hated Putin even last year. Remember those people from State testifying against Trump at the hearings after he was impeached.

    1. An attempt was certainly made to get rid of Biden before he was sworn in. No such overt acts were performed against Trump between his election and his inauguration.

A lieutenant colonel in the US Army testified against Trump during the first impeachment hearings. I don't know that he had any animus against Trump's policies, to the extent that Trump had any; he objected to the corruption of making foreign aid dependent upon conditions of aiding Trump's reelection prospects.

    2. I meant "thought Trump and Putin worked in common", obviously not Trump and Biden.

    3. An attempt was made to get rid of Biden before he was sworn in? What do you have in mind?

  3. The people who wanted to invade Iraq in 2003 and to topple Gadaffi and Assad are the asses. They now want to defeat Russia and get rid of Putin.
