I have done security for Hirohito's visit to the US and for Bush senior's visit to Cape Cod. Like any large scale operations involving people and the chaos they create there will always be cockups, but I am mystified why that rooftop wasn't secured. It was the most obvious place to setup for an assassination. As with Kennedy being denied federal protection and the close call he had, I would suspect that there is some intentional neglect here. Perhaps low staffing?Though, the local authorities were active in the security, and could have been drawn upon for more personnel (that's how I was involved with the Hirohito and Bush). Limited budget? Least competent personnel assigned to command structure?

ReplyDeleteI am afraid life is too short amd too beautiful to waste any of it reading David Frum, his views on Donald Trump or on Israel or on Putin. He is one of the worst neo-cons, probably the greatest threat to Western civilisation after mass migrations.
