Brendan Cox whose MP wife Jo was murdered because of her views on immigration and Brexit condemned the attempt on Donald Trump's life but said "Donald Trump also has some culpability in creating an environment where violence is more likely." This is the first person I've seen who blames Trump. He'd hate it if somebody said his late wife's speeches had some culpability for creating an environment where murder is more likely.

"One can judge a man by how he reacts to being shot. In 1835, a house painter attempted to kill President Andrew Jackson, Trump’s hero. Both his pistols miraculously misfired; Jackson, despite being 67 and in ill-health, charged the villain with his cane. In 1912, Teddy Roosevelt – to whom Trump bears closest comparison – was struck by a bullet while campaigning in Milwaukee. He calmly informed the audience “I have just been shot” but completed the speech anyway, which was an hour long, before visiting the hospital." Timothy Stanley in the Sunday Telegraph

  1. Is Ms. Johnstone unable to distinguish between a passionate desire to defeat Trump in the general election and a willingness to shoot at him? I don't think I'd hire her as a campaign manager.

  2. I don't want to hear any more about Trump Dementia Syndrome from people aligned with someone who thinks that Trump resembles Theodore Roosevelt.

  4. When Nancy Pelosi’s 82-year-old husband was clobbered with a hammer in his house and almost died of a fractured skull, Trump jeered and mocked and implied that the assault took place because of some sexual misadventure. That is a far cry from the behavior of the murdered MP and a reason that some of us would not care too much if the violence he loves so gloatingly befell Donald Trump.
