Lord Ricketts in the time of Messrs Blair and Brown was Permanent Secretary for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Criticising the US National Security Strategy he said "there will be no stability in Europe if Russian aggression is rewarded". I think by rewarded he meant there will be no stability if Russian gains are recognised de facto.

Why not?

What about the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus?

What about Goa?

The British foreign policy establishment has led us into disasters at least since 1914 - but possibly since the English Revolution of 1688.
