The Times They Are A-Changin'

The most consequential geopolitical development of the last two years is the way American public opinion is changing in respect to Israel. 

Mr Netanyahu might agree. 

I am being spammed by a publication called The Free Press which Bari Weiss runs and which strongly argues Israel's case. I don't know how they got my email address but I had to mark it spam several times before it left me alone. 

Zionist multi billionaire owner of Oracle Larry Ellison funds The Free Press and has bought CBS for her to edit CBS News.

Bari Weiss is "an American Jew and an American Zionist who's doing more for Israel than most of us", according to the Jerusalem Post.

Larry Ellison also bought part of TikTok which had been a place where anti-Israel material was easily found but no longer is.

On Monday a Likud Member of the Knesset Dan Illouz said, speaking in English:

“We are used to enemies from outside. We fight terror tunnels of Hamas. We fight the ballistic missiles of Iran. But today I look at the West, our greatest ally, and I see a new enemy rising from within. I am speaking of a poison being sold to the American people as patriotism. I’m speaking of the intellectual vandalism of Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens.”

Many other Israelis have said similar things. 

Here is famous US broadcaster Megyn Kelly talking to Tucker Carlson. Both were Fox News stars, very conservative, always very supportive of Israel and fans of a warlike foreign policy. 

Both are now independent of Rupert Murdoch (having been fired by him in Tucker's case).

Megyn Kelly: “And only now, Tucker, have I begun to say, wait a minute. How much of the narrative that is in our news today has been spoon fed to me by people who are super pro Israel at all costs, who will not tell the truth about Israel no matter what it is, and will cancel you if you do not befriend or defriend people who do. And so this whole thing has made me re-evaluate. I am just starting from square one basically on Israel right now, and I am day by day taking a much harder look at who they are, what they do, and how I find real information on what happened in this war in Gaza that I will trust. Because I do know I am being propagandized by both sides, and I am trying to figure out how I make up my own mind. Even some of the narratives that we hear. I am not a big fan of Islam, I am going to be honest. The tenets of it are political and I do not agree with them. But I have dear friends who are Muslims, and I do start to wonder how much of the very negative messaging about all Muslims has been part of that same messaging. Do not get me wrong. I am not wavering from my position that it is not great to have an Islamist running New York City. But how much of the narrative has come from people who are ardently pro Israel and need me to hate them. You know what I mean."

Tucker Carlson: "All of it."

Megyn Kelly: "So I think it is a fair question, and I am sort of in my own search mode.”
