What happens when Americans withdraw their love from Israel?

SHARE

The most significantly issue in American and world politics is will America continue to ally with Israel?

Even more than Israel America is the biggest source of instability in the Middle East. And in the world come to think of it.

"The US is agreement incapable. Israel is agreement incapable." Scott Ritter

'It's not like the Jews are not being warned by their own people and have been for over 70 years but many of them did not listen then and are not listening now. Hannah Arendt, a Jewish intellectual warned that a state built without Palestinian consent would be condemned to permanent war. Her warning is now a description of Israel today: a militarized society, trapped in endless war and dependent on propaganda to justify the violence needed to sustain its project.' Elizabeth Berry

"Trump's Iran deal shatters Israel's 40-year dream of regime change in Tehran. The US-Iran de-escalation framework leaves the Islamic Republic intact, strengthened, and formally engaged with Washington. For decades, Israel and the US assumed sustained pressure would destabilize Iran—that dogma has now bitten the dust. Israel's isolation on Iran has spiked, and Netanyahu's standing has plunged catastrophically."
Alastair Crooke

'If you fail to win a war, you cannot dictate terms and Iran can just sit there and reject the terms that the United States proposes and insist on its own terms in the end, because Iran's terms coincide very closely with the status quo. It doesn't have to do anything, just keep going as it is. It will control the Strait of Hormuz. It will do its oil trade in yen rather than dollars. It will charge a toll in the Strait. It will exempt some GCC countries from reprisal and not others until the others agree with it on some framework for managing a peaceful coexistence.' Ambassador Chas Freeman here

"The fascists in the cabinet now represent the overwhelming majority of Israelis." Chas Freeman

"But Israel is now coming to the end of the road and, as I said, it's going to have to choose between making peace with those it must live amongst in West Asia or see itself destroyed because it cannot survive through pure militarism, as it has, without American support which is going away. Europeans have never supported it with anything but rhetoric, the exception being Germany. But even the Germans are beginning to understand that in embracing Israel they have embraced a monster. This is not what Israel was supposed to become, but it has become it." Chas Freeman

"You know, after 78 years, you ought to be able to come up with at least one proposal for peaceful coexistence. They've never come up with one in that 78-year period." Chas Freeman
