Homer is new this morning

SHARE

Homère est nouveau ce matin, et rien n'est peut-être aussi vieux que le journal d'aujourd-hui.

Homer is original this morning, and nothing is perhaps so old as today's newspaper.

    1. I like the first one very much. Who said it and said the other two?

I do too. I don't know what to make of the third one.

  2. You don’t have “all the time in the world.”
You get one ticket to the ride, and today is the youngest you’ll ever be.

    2. FARROW: The spirit of honesty that runs through so much of your public life has sometimes blown up in your face a little bit. You faced a lot of criticism, in the midst of #MeToo reporting that was coming out in the last several years, when you suggested women need to protect themselves a little more. You told Megyn Kelly, “You know what you’re getting into when you go to a hotel room alone.” Do you feel like that was a healthy thought to introduce into the dialogue at that point?

ANDERSON: I could even take it a step further. My mother would tell me—and I think this is the kind of feminism I grew up with—it takes two to tango. Believe me, I’ve been in many situations where it’s like, “Come in here little girl, sit on the bed.” But my mom would say, “If someone answers the door in a hotel robe and you’re going for an interview, don’t go in. But if you do go in, get the job.” That’s a horrible thing to say but that’s how I was. I skated on the edges of destruction, I just had this sense of value and self-worth. But I think a lot of people don’t have that or they weren’t taught that.

    1. There are some within the US foreign policy establishment who wish and work for the disintegration of the Russian Federation the way of the old Soviet Union.

They are in power now. By next year they may be out. In jail or in retirement.

How does objecting to this ephemeral policy choice of the current American administration make one a Putin aly?

With the next  American  president (DeSantis or Trump) running for office on an anti-war platform, US withdrawal from NATO becomes a real possibility.

What if the US becomes Putin's ally in 2024?

    2. Is that the esteemed Mr. Gonzalez or Senor Gonzales? I'd love the Russian Federation to break up and the Caucasus countries to become free - but it should not be the result of American machinations.

      You are not alone:

Today, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyryl Budanov turned 37 years old. He was presented with a cake in the form of a map of "dismembered" Russia, which was previously spotted in Budanov's office.
