Europe cannot afford to make an enemy of Russia

He points out that NATO is not a defensive organisation, something proven by the fact that member states account for 52% of total global military spending, a proportion that will increase.


NATO and the EU have usurped their members' sovereignty but peace parties will oust the pro-Nato parties all over Europe.


The Americans and the EU provoked the revolution or coup in Kiev in 2014 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine of Crimea and Donetsk in 2014 was a welcome excuse for more defence spending.


However Mr Proud fails to point out that the secession in the Donetsk was, according to Owen Matthews, organised by the Kremlin.


It was illegal aggression as much as the US invasion of Iraq and attacks on Venezuela and Iran were, albeit Sevastopol in Nato hands was a huge threat to Russia's interests.

I think European countries should move to neutrality in the US war against multipolarity. Alliances do much more harm than good and are out of date in the age of drones, but the new government in London will be as obedient to Washington and Nato as the last.

German companies are moving to China to follow the cheap Russian gas that the German government denied them. European leaders do not seem to recognise that interests change profoundly in a multipolar world: Europe is no longer as relevant, Europe cannot rely on the US to the same extent, Europe cannot afford to make an enemy of Russia, and China can no longer be bullied or lectured.
