The past is a beautiful sunset.

Whether you believe you can or can't - you are always right.

I am most anxious to enlist everyone who can speak or write to join in checking this mad, wicked folly of ‘Women’s Rights,’ with all its attendant horrors, on which her poor feeble sex is bent, forgetting every sense of womanly feelings and propriety. Feminists ought to get a good whipping. Were woman to ‘unsex’ themselves by claiming equality with men, they would become the most hateful, heathen and disgusting of beings and would surely perish without male protection.

Queen Victoria, 1870

Success in marriage and family life is dependent on the woman. Furthermore, women are supposed to be the relationship experts, not men.

Every woman should strive to be a real professional in this native sphere of woman - the sphere of relationships!

If we take on a complete and thoughtful management of relationships, no one, including our husbands, can prevent success!

A woman's desire is to be to her husband, not to herself. Truly, she was created "for man" - to refine his affections, to elevate his moral feelings, and to help him wherever he is deficient.

Isabella De Vita

The majority of husbands remind me of an orang-utan trying to play the violin.

It’s not what he doesn’t know that bothers me, it’s what he knows for sure that just ain’t so.

Walter Mondale, talking about Ronald Reagan, misattributing to Will Rodgers a sentiment originally from Josh Billings. Someone just applied it to Donald Trump.
