Souls

SHARE
Marcus Aurelius:

The soul becomes dyed with the colour of its thoughts.

Victor Hugo, Les Misérables:

What Is Love? I have met in the streets a very poor young man who was in love. His hat was old, his coat worn, the water passed through his shoes and the stars through his soul.”

Nicholas Sparks:

The reason it hurts so much to separate is because our souls are connected.

Logan Pearsall Smith:

Most people sell their souls and live with a good conscience on the proceeds.

Henry James, when asked if he believed in the immortality of the soul:

Yes, for those people who have souls. Most people don't.

Pope Benedict XVI preaching a sermon on the Feast of the Assumption, August 15 2007.

This is the lesson: one should travel on one's own road; one should give life and not take it. And precisely in this way each one is on the journey of love which is the loss of self, but this losing of oneself is in fact the only way to truly find oneself, to find true life.

How very much we miss him.
