“Let us forget with generosity those who cannot love us.” Pablo Neruda. It especially applies to social media altercations.

“The world will ask who you are, and if you do not know, the world will tell you.”
Carl Jung

"There is a limit to the time assigned you, and if you don't use it to free yourself it will be gone and will never return.” Marcus Aurelius

"The sunlight on the garden
Hardens and grows cold,
We cannot cage the minute
Within its nets of gold;
When all is told
We cannot beg for pardon."
“Sunlight on the Garden” by Louis Macneice

“I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.”
Neil Gaiman, quoted by Andrew Withers

"Remember that you are an Englishman, and have consequently won first prize in the lottery of life." Cecil Rhodes. It's still true. What other first prize could there be? Obviously not to be an American, a Russian or a German. I concede that a Frenchman could argue that he had won first prize - I don't think anyone else could - but I think to be a Catholic Englishman is the first prize with knobs on.

This is from 2018 and has aged very well. However it is no longer on Twitter and I suspect that it was deleted by Twitter not by Prof Peterson.

Jordan B Peterson (@jordanbpeterson):
Biologists, wake up. Scientists, wake up. Now. It's not going to get better until you stop this idiocy. The psychometric measure of gender differences is rock solid research.

This is how Canada used to be and I wish it still were. Australia and New Zealand ditto.

Trump should have stuck to doing legal things like assassinating foreign leaders, deliberately starving civilians, imprisoning journalists, and dropping military explosives on foreign nations.

The US needs to stop China's rise by militarily encircling it and waging economic warfare and crippling nations who are aligned with it and staging proxy wars and saturating the world in propaganda and crushing free speech, because otherwise a tyrannical regime might take over.

  2. Jordan Peterson still says many politically correct things (see his stances on IQ differences between the sexes, which he downplays). I wish the world were as perfect as he described it.

  3. Jordan Peterson attracts incels, like moths to a flame.

  4. For a fellow who constantly preaches stoicism, there is sure a lot of drama in Dr Peterson's life.
