In 2025 Declassified UK discovered that very senior Israeli officials, including the former chief of the IDF, held private meetings with powerful figures in the British media, including the BBC, Guardian, FT and Sky News to influence coverage of Gaza.
The Daily Telegraph was not invited because its editorial line was already so pro-Israeli that there wasn't any point.
It's far less critical of Israel and Netanyahu than the Israeli press.
In the last two days it has led with the news that Epstein was a Russian spy and included a savage hatchet job on Tucker Carlson, an American conservative who is now critical of Israel.
It says nothing about Palestinian suffering but much about putative antisemitism in England.
Its coverage of Ukraine, Iran is equally bad.
But the Telegraph is no more biassed to Israel etc than the Murdoch press.
Here is a typical story from today.
'Which is the worst country in Europe? With its fondness for soft borders, coupled with an ideological Europhilia and pathological hatred of Israel, I used to think it was Ireland,' writes Jake Wallis Simons.
'Now I'm starting to wonder...'
He's talking about Spain's criticism of Israeli actions in Gaza.
