I wonder what would happen if Poland and Ukraine suddenly announced that they united to form a single (extremely loosely united) federal country. This was what Churchill offered France just before France surrendered to Germany in 1940.
Western Ukraine was part of Poland until 1939 and before 1918 part of Austria.
