Look at those two faces. I never heard of either of them in my life but those are two journalists who pride themselves on having been around the block and having contrarian opinions on a lot of subjects. Characters, in a word, the sort of men you once found in every pub in every English village, though I am told that characters disappeared years ago.
Now they are disappearing from the media. Characters are not wanted any more.
