Black Lives Matter is a revolution

CrossFit CEO Greg Glassman resigns after facing criticism over George Floyd comments

The CEO of a Canadian loan lender company has resigned following a letter sent to staff saying they “should not support political groups like Black Lives Matter” and that they are contrary to the company’s culture to “live and let live.”

Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian announced his resignation from his role on the board of directors and asked to be replaced with a black candidate. He has also donated one million dollars to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights campaign, and said he will funnel all future gains on his Reddit stock to benefit the black community.

BLACK LIVES MATTER: CORPORATE AMERICA HAS PLEDGED $1.678 BILLION SO FAR

Pat Buchanan penned an article yesterday beginning:

On Gen. George Washington's orders, the Declaration of Independence, signed in Philadelphia, was read aloud to his army. On hearing it, the troops marched to Bowling Green, decapitated and pulled down the statue of George III, and sent the remnants to be melted down into musket balls. It was a revolutionary act, a symbolic statement. These once-loyal American subjects were now rebels and no longer owed allegiance to the king. They would fight to end his rule in America.
During the recent demonstrations and disorders here, similar acts had about them an aspect of societal rebellion and a repudiation of a heritage.

BLM is not about racism, any more than Extinction Rebellion is about the environment. Both are part of one revolutionary movement.

I am reading about the French revolution at the moment. What historians mostly agree on today is how strange, inexplicable and unpredictable an event it was. Yet it has changed the world forever.

Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn wrote:

'For the average person, all problems date to World War II; for the more informed, to World War I; for the genuine historian, to the French Revolution.'

I remember Gorbachev visiting Paris and saying the Russian revolution was inspired by the French revolution, which annoyed French Marxist historians. They had wasted energy falsely asserting that the two events were unconnected.

Not only did the French revolution produce Leninism, it also produced Hitlerism, even though Goebbels in 1933 said 'This is the end of 1789'. It wasn't. It was a continuation of it.

Fraternity became nationalism which distorted became Nazism.

One of the founders of Extinction Rebellion, Stuart Basden, explained what the movement was really about, destroying Western civilisation. He could have been talking about Black Lives Matter.
You see, the climate’s breakdown is a symptom of a toxic system of that has infected the ways we relate to each other as humans and to all life. This was exacerbated when European ‘civilisation’ was spread around the globe through cruelty and violence (especially) over the last 600 years of colonialism, although the roots of the infections go much further back.

As Europeans spread their toxicity around the world, they brought torture, genocide, carnage and suffering to the ends of the earth. Their cultural myths justified the horrors, such as the idea that indigenous people were animals (not humans), and therefore God had given us dominion over them. This was used to justify a multi-continent-wide genocide of tens of millions of people. The coming of the scientific era saw this intensify, as the world around us was increasingly seen as ‘dead’ matter — just sitting there waiting for us to exploit it and use it up. We’re now using it up faster than ever.
Euro-Americans violently imposed and taught dangerous delusions that they used to justify the exploitation and reinforced our dominance, while silencing worldviews that differed or challenged them. The UK’s hand in this was enormous, as can be seen by the size of the former British empire, and the dominance of the English language around the world. There is stark evidence that everyday racial bias continues in Britain, now, today. It’s worth naming some of these constructed delusions that have been coded into societies and institutions around the world:
  • The delusion of white-supremacy centres whiteness and the experience of white people, constructing and perpetuating the myth that white people and their lives are somehow inherently better and more valuable than people of colour.
  • The delusion of patriarchy centres the male experience, and excludes/hinders female assigned people from public life (reducing them to a possession or object for ownership or consumption). Patriarchy teaches dominating and competitive behaviours, and emphasises the idea that the world is a place of scarcity, separation and powerlessness.
  • The delusions of Eurocentrism include the notion that Europeans know what is best for the world.
  • The delusions of hetero-sexism/heteronormativity propagate the idea that heterosexuality is ‘normal’ and that other expressions of sexuality are deviant.
  • The delusions of class hierarchy uphold the theory that the rich elite are better/smarter/nobler than the rest of us, and make therefore better decisions.

Stuart Basden was echoing the view of Communist George Lukacs of the Frankfurt School, after the masses failed to rebel in Germany 1918, who said that Western civilisation must be destroyed.

There won't be a Marxist revolution in America. 'American exceptionalism' is a Marxist phrase to describe why America will not be communist.

But a revolution in thinking is happening and a movement to pack the Supreme Court is gaining momentum. Erich Pica, president of Friends of the Earth. “From the fight for racial justice to efforts to stop climate change and protect our clean air and water, the current configuration of the court has consistently stood in the way of progress. We simply do not have a generation’s worth of time to replace judges.”

Could Donald Trump's legacy turn out to be a very left-wing, woke America?

I still do not think he will lose in November, but he might. He is making every unforced error at the moment and seems not to know what to do, possibly because he is listening to his lifelong Democrat son-in-law rather than his own instincts.

  2. Possible, I suppose. But I think it's more likely that we'll look back on it as a successful extortion racket. Depends on the balance between BLM and the revolutionary forces of Antifa.

    1. Extortion racket, certainly. Even Communist China is in on the act, accusing America and now today Australia of racism. The protests and riots are not going to be a real revolution like in 1776. America is a democratic country with very strong institutions. The election of Donald Trump looked like a revolution but I am not sure how much this revolution achieved.

But revolutions happen in thinking - the mid and late 1960s saw a real social revolution and today's left with its intersectionality is the development of the 1960s revolution. That 1960s social revolution did not happen in Eastern Europe and nor did other things like relentless advertising, consumerism and Americanisation (we'd call it globalisation today). This is why growing up in a Cold War English seaside town Eastern Europe seemed very attractive. It seemed like real life, viewed from a world where life felt plastic. When I came here I found that it was so.

    2. Yes, I think you're right. It's a continuation of the Sixties social revolution.

  3. BLM and other such groups (for example Antifa) are standard Frankfurt School of Marxism types. The interesting thing is how most of the "capitalists" (Corporate managers- much the same as government bureaucrats) fall over themselves to SUPPORT the Marxists.

They give the Marxists the rope with which the Marxists will hang them - and they scream "RACIST" at anyone who tries to warn them.

    1. And yet the left continue to pretend capitalism is their enemy, however left-wing big companies become.

  5. Well that's the pessimistic outlook. How's this for something more optimistic? I’m not sure that time will prove this to be true. The left-wing monster has made a huge anti-western spasm recently but ‘normal’, sane life may carry on under its own inexorable momentum and, in its wake leave just exactly what the left has just done thrown into relief. What may prove to have been an impressive death throe may just have exposed to the common man even more of the playbook of the left just as Brexit and the last election did. I think it is as likely that we are watching the dying gasps of the Marxist narratives as their triumph. Each spasm reveals new perspectives on them to Joe Public. This could be the denouement of what began in 1989. The Marxist experiment is an artificial imposition on reality. Reality may defeat it simply by not being artificial. The weird artificial narrative and the mental construct from the French Revolution is only sustained by huge effort of will which will eventually exhaust itself. Normality requires no effort of will beyond continuing to be. The French Revolution was based on a rational effort. Nature doesn't have to try.

The Marxists are winning big battles in Canada. The same changes are happening in the parts of the US controlled by Democrats, and the Marxists will surely go on gaining ground whoever wins the election, but faster if it’s Biden. Most Americans under 35 want socialism, which is another word for Marxism, and they also say they want an end to free speech. The US will slowly merge with the third world. Even if Trump wins, he will only have four years left.
